영어원서_How to be More Tree(나무처럼 살아간다)

 

전 사람들 주위의 환경이나 식물, 동물들에 관심이 많아요.

그러다 이책 『How to be more tree』책이 눈에 들어왔고 예쁜 그림들과 좋은 문장들이 많아서 더 마음에 들었죠.

책을 읽으면서 신선한 그림들도 함께 볼 수 있어서 정말 좋았어요. 이 책에 쓰여진 문장들은 매우 간단하고 짥은 문장들로 이루어져 있지만 우리가 나무에게서 배울 수 있는 깊고 통찰력 있는 문장들로 이루어져 있어요.

그래서 전 이 책을 영어로 읽어보기를 추천합니다. 가볍게 영어로도 읽을 수 있고 영어문장 실력도 올릴 수 있을 거라 생각이 드네요. 또한 영어필사나 매일 좋은 문장을 영어로 낭독하기에도 좋은 책 같아요~

사이즈도 손바닥보다 약간 큰 크기로 가벼워서 가방에 넣고 다니면서 보기에도 아주 적당합니다.

그림들도 수채화 처럼 이쁘고 매 페이지마다 있어서 넘겨보는 재미가 아주 쏠쏠합니다. 

 

 

 

이 책에 소개된 모든 나무들이 마지막 장에 인덱스로 소개되어 있습니다. 페이지별로 나열되어 있어 다시 찾아서 보기에도 정말 편합니다. 

본인과 비슷한 나무의 특성이나 닮고 싶은 나무를 찾아보기에도 편하답니다. ^^

이 책에는 총 59종의 나무들과 각 나무들의 강점과 장점에 대해 서술하고 있는게 정말 배울점이 많아요. 예를 들면 "시작은 항상 초라하다.", "인내심은 미덕이다.", "다른 사람들의 장점을 보라.", "필요하면 다른 사람들의 도움을 받아라.", "진정성을 지녀라.", "항상 차선책을 구축하라.', "자신만의 길을 가라.", "당신나이를 사랑하라.", "한계를 인정하라.", "변화를 받아들여라." 등등..

 

 

이외에도 우리 삶에서 지녀야 할 도움되는 글들이 많아요.

나무들은 거의 4억년을 살아 오면서 환경에 적응하고 살아남고 번영하는것에 도가 텄다고 할 수 있죠.

또한 나무들은 수억년을 거쳐오는 진화해 오면서 인내심이 있고 끈질기고 강하고 고요한 강점들을 지니고 있습니다. 사람으로 치자면 웬만한 고난이나 방해에도 흔들리지 않는 강한 성인과 같다고 할 수 있을 거예요.

또한 이 책을 읽으면서 그림들이 예뻐서 읽다보면 힐링되는 기분도 느낄 수 있을거랍니다.
